Where We've Invested . . .

In taking the cue from many of our industry partners, Pacific Rim Mortgage has been a major sponsor or underwriter of
MDA, Easter Seals, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, SOLV, Broadway Rose Theatre Company, American Cancer Society, North Portland Cleanup, Habitat for Humanity, Portland Opera, and numerous other organizations received grants during the past year.

All staff members are encouraged to volunteer with organizations throughout the communities they serve.

The Pacific Rim Foundation

From its inception, the company has invested heavily in the communities it serves.  It established the Pacific Rim Foundation as it continues to strengthen the diverse geographic and ethnic populations in the Pacific Northwest through meaningful and targeted investment.  The majority of the grants are pre-selected and unsolicited letters of inquiry are not accepted.

REQUIREMENTS
Organizations must meet all requirements listed below to submit a letter of inquiry:

  • An organization must have current 501(c)(3) Public Charity status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or be an IRS-recognized tribe. It may not be a private foundation as defined in Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Organizations must be located in, or serving populations of Oregon and/or Washington.
  • Organizations must not have any delinquent final reports for previous grants.
  • Organizations are not eligible to receive more than one grant per calendar year.

EXCLUSIONS
The Pacific Rim Foundation does not fund:

  • Projects not aligned with the Foundation's specified program areas
  • General fund drives, annual appeals, or federated campaigns
  • Special events or sponsorships
  • Direct grants, scholarships, or loans for the benefit of specific individuals
  • Projects of organizations whose policies or practices discriminate on the basis of race, ethnic origin, sex, creed, or sexual orientation
  • Contributions to sectarian or religious organizations whose principle activity is for the benefit of their own members or adherents
  • Loans or debt retirement
  • Projects that will benefit the students of a single school
  • General operating support for ongoing activities

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Currently, grants are made on a semi-annual basis.  Funding decisions are made by a nine member governing committee who will transition to a Board of Directors.
